Habegger HIT wire rope manual winches all work on the same functional principle. A wire rope of any length is guided through two pairs of clamping jaws in a straight line.
The winch’s drive lever is operated. The wire rope moves forwards or backwards through the manual winch, smoothly and without any slippage. The clamping jaws open and close alternately due to the design of the lever mechanism. This means that when one pair of jaws opens and pulls in more wire rope, the other pair remains closed. Both sets of clamping jaws automatically close when under load. The clamping pressure increases in proportion to the tensile load.
Our wire rope manual winch provides unrivalled safety as a result of a combination of features. These include the system’s simple design, the use of high-strength, heat-treated materials, the use of custom wire ropes and an overload protection system.
The pin on the lever will shear off if the load on the winch reaches 150% of the rated force. If this does happen, the load can still be lowered, and the pins can quickly and easily be replaced. Replacements pins are located in the handle or jaw opening lever.
We ensure that all our practices and procedures meet the required standards. We carry out painstaking quality checks and material tests and hold certificates from TÜV and UL. As a result, our manual winches come with the assurance of the highest standards and quality. Our manual winches are all supplied with a 5-year warranty.
