Habegger wire rope winches have been successfully deployed around the world since 1951, making them one of the original pioneers in the wire rope winch industry. With high performance, high quality and total safety being the fundamental features of the entire Habegger range, Habegger create winches with superb longevity. Habegger wire rope winches are much lighter than any other brand of winches due to the lightweight aluminium casing – adding to the ease of use. Habegger wire rope winches are made using wear-resistant steel, meaning that Habegger winches do not face the same level of abrasion on the front of the winch and the rear gripper like many other winches on the market, increasing the lifetime of the winches.
The standard HIT-TRAC 16E powered winch has a rope pulling speed of 10 metres per minute. The HIT-TRAC 16E can also be purchased with a variable control which enables the rope pulling speed to be adjusted continuously between 2-8 metres per minute.
No, the HIT-TRAC powered winches are not licensed for passenger transport – they are only licensed for the pulling, lifting and lowering of loads only. In order for the powered winches to be made suitable for passenger transport, additional safety devices are required, e.g. an interceptor or personal fall protection equipment.
The winch, its cable and accessories must be checked by qualified specialist every 2 years (see the label on the relevant device). During this inspection, the device will be checked for any deformation, signs of wear and cracking. In addition to this, intermittent checks by specialists may need to be scheduled between inspections if required by operational conditions.
